Q: What is an arepa?
A: Arepas are amazing! 

Arepas are a comfort food that's eaten every day - a corn flour & cheese pancake, sometimes sweetened, known throughout South America, specifically Colombia and Venezuela, (and the world) as FREAKN AWESOME! Similar to a pita in shape and function, this traditional food can be baked, fried or grilled. We prefer to prepare ours in a panini maker or on a grill-pan.

At All Day Snacks, we created the all day arepa: a naturally gluten-free arepa that's crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Our arepas are proudly made with 100% MASECA corn flour which is fortified and gluten-free. The perfect beginnings to a great, easy meal.


Q: Where are All Day Snacks made?
A: All Day Snacks uses a certified commercial kitchen here in the Fairfield County, CT area that only makes gluten-free (and nut-free) foods. 
 
 
Q: What is the right time of day to eat arepas?
A: Great question! Arepas are an all day food. That means that they go great with coffee/hot chocolate at breakfast, serve as an amazing midday snack, can accompany meats at lunch or dinner, and also pair very well with wine or beer.


Q: How do I prepare the arepas? (always be safe when cooking)
A: You have a few options for heating up your frozen All Day Arepas.
Option 1. Preheat your grill pan. Place your arepas on the hot pan for a few minutes on each side until the outside is crispy.
Option 2: Place your arepas on a panini maker for 5-8 minutes (depending on your heat level) When the outside is golden and has some crisp to it, remove with a spatula and enjoy.
Option 3: Have a George Foreman grill? Arepas heat up wonderfully on them.
Option 4. Preheat your frying pan. Place your arepas on the hot pan for a few minutes on each side until the outside is crispy.


Q: How do I order the arepas?

Q: Is there a delivery fee? How do I trip drivers?
A: There is a $5 delivery fee for orders less than $30. We offer free delivery for orders $30 and over. You may feel free but, of course, are not obligated to tip our drivers by sending a tip with Venmo to @Drivers-AllDaySnacks. Our drivers keep all of the tips. 


Q: How do the arepas arrive to my house?
A: All Day Arepas will be delivered to your home frozen and can be stored directly in your freezer. You may thaw them out, safely, and then cook them but our arepas can be cooked from frozen on a panini maker, grill pan, George Foreman grill, or frying pan. Super simple and takes less than 10 minutes!
   

Q: Are you certified gluten free?

A: No, we do not have formal certification. However, we do not use any ingredients that have gluten in them and we prepare our arepas in a facility that only processes gluten free foods. If you have a severe allergy, please consult with your doctor before eating any of our foods. Michael, our founder, is gluten free and eats all day arepas almost every day. 


Q: Is my arepa raw?
A: The arepa technically can be eaten raw. There are no raw eggs. When you cook your arepa it should be gooey on the inside and crunchy on the outside.


Q: Can I microwave my arepa?
A: We strongly suggest against microwaving your arepa. We strong encourage it to be prepared on a grill pan or panini maker.
